12/18/02 - Denver, CO - The Kissmas Snowball
A review by Mitch-
Kelly was the first to preform at the Kissmas Snowball in Denver.
A few minutes
before 7:00, a few of the DJ's came out and introduced themselves and told everyone
that Kelly would be out in a minute. So, the lights went low and you could hear
some guitar and some drums then the stage lights went on and there's little miss
Osbourne standing in a black shirt (there was something on it, I think it was 2
faces but I couldn't really tell), a pair of dark blue jeans, and a pair of red
Chuck Taylors. She opened up with 'Come Dig Me Out' then she played
'Disconnected'.
After that she took a short break from playing to tell the audience that
she was feeling sick and apologized if she didn't sound her best. She then
poured some water on the hair and chest and told us all that she hoped we knew
the words to the song she was about to play. The song was 'Shut up' (but with the
little intro thing at the beginning it was hard to tell what it was until those
first few lyrics). It seemed like the only part anybody knew was the 'bla bla
bla' part and my cousin and I were the only ones in our section standing up and
jumping around. But it was still great.
After that a bald man came out and put a
tall, square, long necked glass bottle of something on the drum platform, while
Kelly told us that the song she was about to play was her favorite on the album
and that it was about masturbation. She took a few big gulps of the foriegn
drink (the bottle looked like a alcohol bottle but I don't know), hawked a big
ball of spit onto the stage and played 'Too Much of You'.
After that song was
over she told us that the song she was about to play wasn't written by her and
that she needed some help to sing it. She pulled up a lady with green hair, a
lady with blue hair, and some other guy. She sang 'Papa Don't Preach' and
everyone stood up for that one. The 3 people on stage were crying really hard
and Kelly gave them all big hugs then let them all go back stage for a while.
That was the end of the show. It was short but sweet... Very sweet
Oh, and they were selling long-sleeved Kelly shirts with pink sleeves
and a pink collar. The had a cartoonish picture of Kelly and it said 'Kelly
Osbourne' and 'Shut Up' in purple. They were 25 bucks.
