11/27/02: FIRST REVIEW OF KELLY'S SHOW!

(Thanks to Alanna whoffleck@hotmail.com for this awesome review.)

"I went to Kelly Osbourne's first ever concert at Irving Plaza tonight (Nov. 26, 2002). There weren't many fans there, which is probably why the concert sold out in 15 minutes - there were probably not many tickets released to the public. There were many press, friends and family there. The balcony where I usually hang out at the venue was blocked off because the Osbournes were all up there lounging.
After the opening band ( TheSexy Magazines) went off stage, Robert, Kelly's bestfriend and new-member of the Osbourne clan, came out of the backstage area to check out the crowed, and what not. He was the only one that came out from the VIP area. No one bugged him, so he was able to roam around without being spotted.
Prior to Kelly's stage arrival, they showed the 2nd season premiere of the Osbournes on a big screen. Whenever Kelly was on the screen, loud girly screeches would come out of the audience. Everyone laughed together, and confusingly looked at each other whenever Ozzy would mumble something. It was a remarkable experience to watch the show with other fans. Then, a few people on the floor spotted Sharon and Ozzy on the balcony and the spotlight went on them and they all waved to the fans. All I saw were Ozzy's 10 million golden rings, and Sharon's hair.
When Kelly went on stage the crowed was pumped, everyone was having fun. Robert was standing next to me during a good 3 songs, and couldn’t stop bopping his head to the music. I was able to see perfectly because everyone in front of me were up to my boobs. There were tons of short, young girls up in the front. That made me happy because I was able to take a few pictures.
Kelly's overall performance was cute, rockin' and engaging. She stood in the back near the drum set for a few songs, I guess trying to ease her nervousness, but afterwards totally interacted with the audience and sang her ass off. The funniest moments were before “Too Much Of You” when she introduced the song as a masturbation song, and then asked every boy to put their first up and every girl to put two fingers up (if you don’t get what those hand gestures mean, then I suggest you think harder), then she handed out colored condoms to everyone in the front and told them to blow them up like balloons and not use them for personal reasons. No one did do that but her, so she called everyone retards for keeping the condoms to themselves. The performance was extremely short because almost all of her songs are less than 3-minutes long, but it was awesome. I realized not all of the songs on the album were sung, so that made it even shorter of a performance. She ended the show before the encore with 'Papa Don't Preach' and brought a few girls up on stage from the crowed to sing with her. One of the girls had a sign that read "Christina is a dirrty whore" ... haha classic. When the 1 minute encore was over, she came back out and asked the crowed what they wanted to her to sing. Being that not many people knew the songs on the album by heart, there wasn’t a good response from the audience. I heard a few scream out “PLAY COOLHEAD” (probably one of the favorites on the album), but Kelly decided to sing “Shut Up” yet again."

11/18/02: JUST ANOTHER ARTICLE

Kelly claims she doesn't care about how well her debut album, "Shut Up!," sells when it's released next week, but she does actually sound like a demon possessed. Albeit a very nice, fashionable demon.
"I just had so much fun doing it - writing the songs, recording them and seeing how they ended up," she says. "I'd get crazy. They'd tell me, 'Track 7 is coming in today.' I'd freak out until I got to the house, and then I'd run up to the bedroom and lock the door and listen to it about 20 times before I let anyone else hear it."
Kelly says that just finishing the record is satisfaction enough. "I put so much into making it, that to me it's a goal achieved. I don't think having a No. 1 album or single defines you as any better a musician than someone who doesn't."
So when Kelly's asked what she hopes will come from the album, she says, "nothing." You almost believe her.
And you won't find any songs about love on her new disc either.
"The songs might have the word 'boy' or the word 'crush' in it but none of my songs are about that," she says. Songs about being in love, Kelly says, are "ridiculous." Of course it might depend on the messenger.
"If you're Britney Spears or some 2-year-old pop singer, oh please, f-- off," she says. But in general, she adds, "I'm not a sappy-song kind of person."
Instead, she wrote mostly about friends and family. "Contradiction" is about her sister Aimee. "On Your Own," is about a bad friend and "Shut Up!" is about her school teachers (although Kelly is a high school dropout).
And what does she have in her CD player today?
"This is gonna be really gay, but it's myself. I can't stop listening," she says.

11/08/02: SHARON'S CANCER IN REMISSION

I listened to an interview this morning with Kelly on 107.7 The End, here in Seattle, and Kelly said that the family found out Monday that Sharon's cancer was gone!!
Here's what else she had to say:
-She's still dating Bert McCracken
-She say's she's NOT a virgin, and it was nobody's buisiness, anyway!
-About Aimee, she said that if she's Jealous of Kelly's singing career, then she should have done the show.
-She said Jack hangs out with the "Jackoff" guys..(I think she meant "Jackass")
She said the coolest thing about her family was her mom....The worst was, of course, Jack.
-She said that she's really good at replying to fan mail, and that she tries to answer them all....She said she gets some weird stuff, like one guy sent her his underwear, and other guys tell her they masturbate to her picture and stuff like that!
-Sharon left school at age 13
-She says that the "Alchohol Poisoning" episode will air this season.
- She says that her tour will start in February
- And the coolest thing- She says she *Loves* Seattle!
Also, they played most of her new song, Shut Up!, and I hate to admit it, but she reminded me of Avril Lavinge. Sorry.

11/05/02: SHARON OSBOURNE: "I LOVE MY MTV"

Sharon Osbourne has denied reports they are to quit their MTV reality show, 'The Osbournes'.
During an interview on '20/20', Sharon admitted that she had found the MTV cameras intrusive as she battled with colon cancer. She said: "We agreed to do the show and so the cameras are here all the time. So it's a little bit invasive right now, and we have no privacy. You know when you're sick, you want to be on your own? I can't throw up on my own, and Ozzy can't get drunk on his own."
But Sharon has since spoken out to reassure fans that 'The Osbournes' will be around for a long time to come. "I have every intention of fulfilling our commitment to MTV for a full 20 episodes. I love my MTV."
The show's second season premieres on MTV USA on November 26. It will hit UK screens in January 2003.

11/04/02: SHARON TO CALL IT QUITS

NEW YORK (AP) - If she had to do it over again, Sharon Osbourne says she wouldn't have invited MTV's cameras into her home.
The cancer-stricken matriarch of television's favorite dysfunctional family told ABC's Barbara Walters that she's calling it quits after an upcoming, 10-episode season is through.
"This is definitely the last year," Osbourne said in an interview that will be broadcast on "20/20" Wednesday. "We can't do it anymore."
MTV's second season of "The Osbournes" begins Nov. 26. The first set of episodes drew record ratings for the network this spring and made aging heavy-metal star Ozzy Osbourne and his family household names.
Sharon Osbourne, who is fighting colon cancer, said the show has "changed us all so much." Her teenage children now have lawyers and business managers, she said.
"Because it's a moment in time, when we were innocent to it all, we went in feet first and you can't recreate that," she said. "Yes, now, this series, people will see what the first series has done to our lives and it will take people to the next stage. But after that, it's over."
There was no immediate comment from MTV, which was airing a special, "Catching Up with the Osbournes," on Monday.
The family hasn't exactly shunned the spotlight. ABC said Monday that Ozzy, Sharon, Kelly and Jack Osbourne will be hosts of the American Music Awards on Jan. 13. Daughter Kelly has recorded her own CD that's due out soon.
Sharon said Ozzy has begun drinking again in response to her cancer.
"We agreed to do the show and so the cameras are here all the time," she said. "So it's a little bit invasive right now and we have no privacy. You know when you're sick, you want to be on your own? I can't throw up on my own and Ozzy can't get drunk on his own."
Two of the Osbourne children, Kelly and Jack, participate in the series. An older daughter, Aimee, did not. She told Walters that she worries about what will happen to her father if anything should happen to Sharon.
"I don't think he even wants to know what life will be like without her," Aimee Osbourne said. "And I don't think he would last more than a year without her."

11/04/02: OSBOURNES TO HOST AMA'S

The Osbourne family will be hosting the 30th annual "American Music Awards" in January. The special will originate from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California and broadcast live on ABC.
The Osbournes will be presenting a total of 21 publicly voted awards. In the Pop/Rock, Country and Hip-Hop/R&B categories, awards will be presented for Favorite Male and Female Artist, Favorite Group, Favorite Album and Favorite New Artist. In the Latin Music, Contemporary Inspirational, Adult Contemporary and Alternative Music categories, awards will be presented for Favorite Artist. Favorite Soundtrack will also be awarded, and fans can vote for "Internet Artist of the Year" by visiting www.abc.com. "The American Music Awards" will air Monday, Jan. 13 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
