8/06/02:ALBUM SOUNDS "PUNKY"

Kelly is completing work on her first album with producer Ric Wake. She told LAUNCH about the project at the 2002 Teen Choice Awards Sunday (August 4).
"I don't really know because I don't like talking about myself, [but] I know that's amazing and I sound wonderful," she said. "It's just me, myself and Ric Wake writing everything. It's very punky."
Osbourne explained that the album, due this fall, will feature all original material except for her cover of Madonna's 1986 hit "Papa Don't Preach."
The fledgling teen actress and singer also said that her mother, Sharon, is doing well following her first chemotherapy treatments for cancer. "She's done a complete 360," she said. "She's almost perfect."
Osbourne also added that father's return to OzzFest is the right thing for him to do. "He just figured he'd be better off going out and working than staying home and worrying about her," she said.

8/02/02:GOOD NEWS?

Biting the head off a live bat was evidently easier to do than watching his wife undergo chemotherapy.

Ozzy has canceled plans to take a three-week break from the road while Sharon receives treatment for colon cancer, the couple's publicist said on Thursday.

"After attending Sharon's first chemotherapy treatment, he nearly passed out and had to be taken to a recovery room," the publicist said in a statement. "Sharon now realizes that Ozzy is better off on the road so she's shipped him back out to finish OZZfest."

He will miss two OZZfest dates in Ohio -- Aug. 3rd in Columbus and Aug. 4 in Cleveland -- before resuming a month-long trek in Clarkston, Michigan on Aug. 7.

8/01/02:FREAKY FRIDAY?

Kelly Osbourne may just turn into the princess of all media.
Variety reports that she is in negotiations to costar and sing in Disney's remake of the 1976 movie "Freaky Friday," which originally starred Jodie Foster and Barbara Harris.
The story deals with a daughter-mother pair who argue constantly, only to wake up one day to discover they've switched identities. Lindsay Lohan and Annette Bening will headline the new version. Kelly would play the Lohan character's best friend and is expected to contribute at least one song, which she would sing in the picture, says Variety.
Also, the whole Osbourne clan make a cameo in "Austin Powers' Goldmember," which opened last Friday.

Epic is planning an Aug. 27 release for the "Ozzfest 2002" live album, to be drawn from recent shows, including the July 17th duo of Kelly and Andrew WK performing his song "She is Beautiful".
