JJ: What were you saying about Evanessence earlier? Kelly: Umm, I went... I played this place the day after she was and they showed me a videotape that the club had taken of her. She's amazing, she's got the most amazing voice. JJ: Whoa K: She's great. JJ: What was your response when you first heard that song, "Bring Me To Life?" K: I liked it. It's got music a bit like Linkin Park, but she's got such a beautiful clear voice, like Tori Amos. JJ: Really cool eclectic combo. K: It's different ya know? There's nothing else out there like that. Especially because she's a girl ya know? JJ: I think chicks are starting to really make an impact in music, obviously you know when you think back... K: (interrupts) They still don't play chicks on K-ROCK though... JJ: They don't? K: No. JJ: They play you? K: No. JJ: Oh, that's uncool. K: Oh, in rock music today, in any music today, like... JJ: (interrrupts) How about MTV? Are they representing the female portion of Rock? K: I think, I don't think MTV really represents rock music, very much.. I don't. JJ: Uh huh K: Like I've said this before, I love MTV, like their my fans, they've made me who I am, but the only music videos they play are about drinking Cristal in a club, and who humps the cutest girl in high school, and there's not necessarly like a huge varitey of music. JJ: I can see that arguement totally.. uh, maybe we shouldn't talk about this on the radio, but uh... maybe I won't... I'm talking about the airplay of your video, should we get into that at all? K: Uh, oh I don't care if they play my video or not. JJ: I think you should.... K: I don't care, because MTV made me who I am. I'm just happy to have a video, I don't care if they play it or not. JJ: Do you realize you're on your third single now? How many people never get to a third single... Is that cool? K: It is.. it's fun. JJ: That's a good feeing. Let me jump to line 12 real quick. Ellen K: YOu know what you guys, I know you guys have your little love relationship and you're very tight, and talk on the phone all of the time, you and Kelly but it's not fair, to not let us know. My question is, what made you go from your black hair to blonde? K: I was bored. Caller: You were bored? Yeah that happens a lot. JJ: She has a really good story for that too. About bleach and craziness. K: My hairdresser goes, it's going to be a good 4 month process, where you keep coming in a doing a light bleaching, and then to get it to the color. Then I go, "No do it. My hair's strong and it can handle it." And then my hair fell out. JJ: Oh no. --break-- JJ: We're having an awesome time with Kelly and jumping into Chistina "Fighter". So you and Christina cool noW? Or is everything calmed down with that? K: I don't like her. I don't have to like her, but I don't understand why anyone cares. JJ: I love you Kelly. K: *giggles* JJ: Could you be a little bit more honest, Kelly? My god. There's something about your whole attitude, you seem so sweet when I meet you. But you still have two sides to you, where you can say what you feel, and whether it's nice or brutal. I like it. K: I think people, it's a big part of their character that people like. It's a very english thing. JJ: So you say nice things about me? K: Yes I do. It's my favorite thing to do. Come here. JJ: Wow... cool. I love this chick! --break-- JJ: We have a call from Autumn. Autumn can you hear me? Caller: Yes I can here you. JJ: You have an accent, where are you from? Caller: I'm from London, England. K: Oh you're English, yay! JJ: What's your question for Kelly? Caller: My question is, if you were stranded on a desert island, which one person would be pick to be stranded on the island with? K: Someone hot and not annoying. JJ: You could be stranded on the island with your boyfriend. EllenK: Yeah, what's his name? Butt Crack? K: *laughs* No, definately not, he'd be the last person in the world I'd want to be stranded with. JJ: Why not your boyfriend on an island? K: He's not my boyfriend anymore. JJ: *gasps* What the hell? What happened? K: He broke up with me on Valentines Day, because he said... JJ: On Valentines Day? K: Yes, and he, in the same sentence that he said I was perfect and that he loved me, he broke up with me. JJ: So run me through that phone call and tell me what happened. K: So I hadn't hear from him and it was like 2 0'clock in the morning and I was like, "Oh, why didn't he call me or send me flowers or anything." So then I thought, "Well maybe he's mad at me and I'll call him." And he goes, "Hi are you mad at me?" and I go, "No." and I was right outside the ROXY, because we had just been to my friend's birthday, and then he goes, "I love you, you're amazing, you're perfect. You're the only person in the world that I want to be with, but I can't be with you. I have to go." and I was like, "He's joking." So I went home and called him, and he said, "Look I told you I have to go, I can't talk to you," and then he hung up. I was like, what is going on here? So I call him again, and he said, "Look, I told you, I don't want to talk to you." and then I didn't talk to him for like a week, so I called him a week later and was like, "Look," I was crying, I was really, really upset, I said, "What's going on, I don't understand?" And he said, "People don't take me seriously, because I date you, you're a joke to my career... I just wanna ROCK!" I was like, "Ok, that's fine." But I mean I was devestated, I was really, really, really upset. Like, I loved this guy, I still do love him, and he broke my heart. And then I spoke to him on his birthday, and we made plans when he came into town. Like we'd hang out and try to be friends. And I really honeslty wanted to be friends with him, I did. And we hungout the first day, and it was weird because I still had all these feelings for him and he had all these feelings for me and it was kinda, we'd fight, then make up again, then fight, and then it was my friend's birthday and he kissed another girl in front of me. JJ: Oh my god. K: He said to me, "Oh I have to go to the bathroom." But then he as gone for a while, and I wondered what was taking so long and I went to go find him and he was making out with this girl. And I was devestated, I just wanted to go crawl in a hole and die, but I was like, I'm not gonna let him get the best of me. So I drove him back to the hotel and I told him, "Look, I be friends with you, I can't even talk to you, whatever." JJ: Oh, dude. K: And of course, because I'm nice, I tried to talk to him again, and the last time I spoke to him was when, um, I used to prank phone call a friend of his, and for three months I had him on this, it was really fun, and he had no idea it was me, and he told that it was me. And I called and asked, "Why did he have to ruin my fun, I don't understand, it had nothing to do with you. Why would you do that?" And he said, "Don't be mad at me or whatever." We actually got into a conversation and he said, um, "I can't talk to you anymore." and just threw the phone on the floor. And I was all, "I've never let anyone be rude to me, I never have. Why should I start with you?" And I havn't spoken to him since. JJ: Good for Kelly. K: You know what it is? I've have never opened up to anyone or never let my guard down. I really do love him and I am in love with him still. That's why I'm hurt so much. Like as a person, I dislike him more than anyone in the world. JJ: So you've made a point and you're never going to call him anymore. K: I really have given up, this is the longest. EllenK: Did you tell your mom or dad? What did they say? K: My parents have always not liked him. Especially after what he did after we broke up. Like he did an interveiw with Playboy, and talked about stuff that was like not true, and really inappropriate. And my parents read it and it was not nice, you know? JJ: I bet your mom wanted to beat the beejesus out of him. K: My dad wants to. *laughs* K: It's a little scary because my dad has gotten involved in my personal life. JJ: Oh my god. K: But I think when he saw how sad I was after everything, he was like, "No one's going to make my baby cry." What made it so hard in the whole relationship was that my mom got involved in most of it because she's so used to being invloved in everything in my life, and she couldn't be involved in that, and she tried to force her way into it and it was just, it made everything that much harder. JJ: God, well thanks for putting that on the radio. I didn't mean to bring that up about you boyfriend and stuff but Jesus! |
